Dancer Longevity
Helping dancers train stronger, move better, and stay injury-free.
Led by a former dance teacher turned physical therapist,
I help dancers and dance educators bridge the gap between training and long-term health.
There’s a gap in how dancers are trained.
For years, I was a dance teacher.
I taught the way I was taught. I cared deeply about my students and
wanted them to succeed.
But now, as a physical therapist working with dancers every day,
I see the same patterns over and over again:
Overuse injuries.
Burnout.
Dancers leaving too soon.
Not because they aren’t talented or hardworking—
but because no one ever taught them how to train for longevity.
There’s a missing link between dance training and how the body actually works.
That’s where I come in.

This isn’t just about treating injuries.
Most dancers are taught how to push harder.
Very few are taught how to train smarter.
My approach focuses on:
• strength before flexibility
• understanding your body
• building sustainable training habits
• recognizing early signs of injury
• supporting long-term performance—not just short-term results
Because the goal isn’t just to dance well now—
it’s to keep dancing for years to come.
Hi, I’m Kristen.
I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the owner of Delaware Dance Physical Therapy.
Before becoming a physical therapist, I was a dance teacher.
I know what it’s like to be in the studio—making decisions in real time, doing your best with the knowledge you have.
Now, I combine that experience with clinical expertise to help dancers and educators train in a way that actually supports the body.
I’ve spent the past 10+ years working with dancers of all ages, helping them recover from injuries—and more importantly, prevent them.
Because dancers deserve better support than what most of us were given.
What dancers and families are saying
“Being a professional contemporary ballet dancer, I am extremely picky about who I trust with my body. Kristen has not only been there to walk me through all my injuries but has also been a resource to me for my general wellness. She has an incredible understanding that every body operates differently and she tailors your healing process accordingly. Her commitment to her patients is unwavering and I would not be able to perform in my career without her knowledge.”
— Andie, professional dancer“Kristen is our go to for dance related injuries , prevention and next level care for our teen dancer! She has helped our dancer with a few injuries/incorrect pointe shoes consequences which have all healed in a safe timely fashion and then treatment exercises to prevent in the future. She identified a potential for serious injury in my daughters knee as it was extremely weak which you don't ever imagine being an issue with a teen who has danced since 3. As a person in the medical field, I enjoyed having her explain everything well and detailed like I like. It is with no hesitation that we recommend Kristen. We are so lucky to have such a professional specializing in dance in our area.”
— Andrea, dance mom“I really don’t know where to start. Kristen has been absolutely wonderful to work with! Bringing her dance knowledge to the medical treatment is invaluable because she obviously understands what my daughter is going through. She’s so personable and has been very flexible with scheduling. The convenience is great and she provides a PT routine for in-between visits. Highly recommend!”
